Each course in all programs is designed to provide the student with skills and hands-on experience toward successful certification in related fields.

PC Technical Specialist Program

Today's technology providers need updated technical skills to manage their client's technical issues. The new, ever evolving technologies, like wireless communication, handheld devices, Fire wire, USB, SATA drives and operating systems like Windows XP, Linux and Windows 2003 Server, are growing in market share and require certification to ensure competency from the support personnel tasked with the building, operation and day-to-day maintenance of these technologies.

To provide the skills needed, the PC Technical Specialist Program offers a training program that prepares the student for CompTIA A+, and Network+ certifications. The A+ certification proves that a candidate has a broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. Two exams are required to earn the A+ certification, A+ Core (Hardware) Technologies and A+ Operating Systems (OS) Technologies. Earning a CompTIA Network+ certification demonstrates that a candidate can describe the features and functions of networking components, and possesses the knowledge and skills needed to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services.

These certifications would qualify candidates for positions such as: PC Technicians, Helpdesk Support Personnel, Field Support Technicians, and Staging Technicians for Network Deployments, Break/fix Technicians, Software Installation Specialists, and Technical Support to internal or external networked/desktop systems.

This certificate provides students with the upper level technical skills necessary to plan, develop, and administer network and communications systems. It is designed for students who already have basic computer skills and want to specialize in computer networking.

Each course is designed to provide the student with skills and hands-on experience toward successful CompTIA certification in the related fields.
